I think it is amazing at how much effort we put into decorations! This is a house on a street near my house that is hooked to 12 others with the timing of their lights flickering to the beat of the music, which can be heard through a radio station. People line up for several streets just to drive through this neighborhood. It is crazy! I think that is great as long as we don't forget the reason for the celebration. Sometimes I feel like Jesus gets shoved to the background at His own birthday party! May we never forget the why behind the what. With our boys we actually have a party for Jesus. We will make some cup cakes and sing happy birthday to Jesus. Santa, presents, lights, trees, and Christmas parties are all cool as long as we keep perspective and keep the manger at the forefront. Happy Birthday Jesus!
