wonder

Reading an article yesterday how people today are flooded with so much information all day long, that they/we don't have time to think about anything deeply. It really got me thinking (deeply...lol) about how we have so much technology that takes our attention off of the "wonder of God" all around us. May I never get to "busy" to wonder at a sunset or to see the sense of amazement in my kids eyes. To look at a flower and see the reflection of the Creator. All around us, all day long, God is revealing Himself in wonder.....but many times we are too busy to see it. What "wonder" are you missing today?

wonder

I try to make a big deal out of the little things in life with my kids. But really, I am just adding to the great imagination and awe, that is already there. We took our kids to a neighborhood right next to ours where the whole street has lights hooked up to each other and to the music on their own radio station. Griswald on steroids.....no doubt. I loved hearing the oooh's, aaaahhh's and the "look daddy". It's amazing how the little things can bring wonder to the heart of a child. Why do we have to lose that? It's amazing how much joy we rob ourselves from because we fail to appreciate the little things. I'm trying to hit the brakes this Christmas season and join my kids in the "wonder".

Seeing God

This was the view from the back porch of the little cabin we stayed in. Walking out on that deck you can only hear birds singing and the wind moving through the trees. In a place like that (for me anyway) I feel so close to God. It was almost as if God Himself was out on that porch saying "Can you see me now?". I could feel the presence of God amongst His creation because there was a sense of "wonder". The kind of "wonder" I think that get's lost in the crazy rush of life. The "wonder" that you must stop, take a deep breath to appreciate. The "wonder" that speaks deep within your soul that can only come from a Maker to His creation. God speaks to me through His creation, but what about you? How does God reveal His "wonder" to you? And...are you taking time to recieve it?
