Vacation

My blogs may be a little thin this week, cause I'm on vacation! We left Sunday afternoon and drove to KY to stay the night and go to Dinosaur World. The kids had a blast. We are now in Birmingham and it is hot and humid. We will head to Keri's mom's lake house...(uh trailor) this weekend!

I watched the Dark Knight last night and it really challenged me. (God speaks to me in a huge way through movies) The character Harvey Dent who was turning into the real hero of Gotham, was finally turned through the Joker's pressure. Everyone looked to Dent and trusted him, but he fell. I spent some time thinking about my own life as a leader and pastor, and knowing that just like Harvey Dent, when we stir up the enemy, there are repercussions. It almost always gets worse before it gets better. There is a price to pay, and those who lead the movement will pay the highest price. Am I, and are you, willing to pay it?

vacation

We are halfway through our vacation and I'm having a blast just hanging with my family. It seems so hard to make room for a vacation, but I feel it is so needed. We are creating memories that we will have forever. Of which, I will constantly remind my kids of our times in Alabama. We canoed several miles together as pirates and I spent a good bit of time underwater as the daddy sea monster that eats feet. We had pontoon boat rides and were pulled in a tube behind it, as well as, catching at least 40 fish off the dock. (Actually, we probably caught the same 4 fish, 10x's) Did I mention several pints of Blue Bell Ice Cream and Milo's hamburgers? All that to say, I want to live in the moment with my family and not worry about anything but them. Life is good.

VACATION

We are leaving this morning for vacation to Alabama to visit Keri's family for a week. My mother in law has a trailor on a lake with a pontoon boat, a dock and a canoe. We will do a lot of grilling, swimming, fishing and boating. (All FREE, as a church planter, you gotta love that) I'm sure me and the boys will use the canoe and take some great expeditions. So I doubt I will be blogging as regularly until next Thursday. So, peace out!
